The Basics of Poker

Poker is a card game. In five-card poker, there are 10 ways to win. A straight is a set of five cards in sequential order. A flush is a set of five cards of the same suit. And if two players get the same hand, the higher card wins. The other three ways to win are split pots and pairs.

When a hand is a pair of kings, the first player must bet the minimum amount of money, otherwise, he can check. The other two players have to bet more money to raise the pot. The winning player is the one who has the best poker combination. However, if a player makes an all-in bet, he will only win the pot to which he contributed.

The dealer deals the cards face up to the players in turn. In casual games, the dealer is not one of the players, but a token that rotates from hand to hand. After the first round of betting, the dealer will determine the order of betting. During the betting process, the player has the option to fold (reject) the bet or check, which means he/she does not want to make a bet now but will make it later.
