The Basics of Poker

During each round of betting, the player to the left of the button is required to “drop” his or her bet. If the player opts to “fold”, he or she will lose any chips in the pot.

The first round of betting is followed by a second and a third. The last round of betting will result in a showdown. The winner will be the player with the best hand.

There are several variants of poker, but the most popular are stud poker and 5-card draw poker. These games are played with a standard 52 card pack.
